Gauging Adolescent Minecraft Engagement (G.A.M.E.) Study
In this study, we compared adolescents' social interactions in a virtual versus an in-person setting. We explored the nature of young adolescents’ (ages 11-14 years; entering or enrolled in the 7th or 8th grade) social interactions with an unfamiliar same-age, same sex peer. Children were observed while playing the online game Minecraft. In addition, children were asked to complete a number of questionnaires.
